What is eliminative materalism?please elborate
Eliminative materialism is a better way to understand things than to blame why things happen on Gods and spirits. If scientists did not decide to really look into theories, we would not have known about evolution. We would only have the theory that God created everything and not really know anything else besides that. We do not believe any more that the reason for thunder and lightning was because of a God. We know now from research that it comes from electrical magnetic currents that wouldn’t have been known without scientist. This means that an eliminative materalism is believed that there are no beliefs or desires. When Eliminative Materialists were trying to come up with a theory for this. They thought back to other times when people tried to explain phenomena and how some of those attempts that had failed really bad. Not all theories come out the way some one wants it to there are times where the person has to keep on trying to get the answer. For me to have a better understanding of the definition I decided to look it up on www.wikipedia.com.  Eliminative materialism (also called eliminativism) is a materialist position in the philosophy of mind. Its primary claim is that people's common sense understanding of the mind or is false and that certain classes of mental states that most people believe in do not exist. This basically means to myself that not everything your mind may think is true sometimes it is as if it is an illusion. A person can think that what they are about to do it right since they are the ones thinking it, but it can be your mind playing tricks on you. The outcome can be very bad if your common sense does not get the best of you at the time of your decision. It is said that our language includes much that is misleading words such as “pain”, “joy”, and “desire. Those are some of the words that can mislead someone to believe us in our physical state of mind. It may just be a desire that our minds have to do something that is not really a good idea.
